No, you don't need to have any special fonts installed if you are using a recent web browser. This is because the fonts are embedded in the OCP pages. Older browsers, though, do not support font-embedding. You need to be using one of the following:

  • Safari 3.1 (or newer)
  • Google Chrome 4 (or newer)
  • Opera 10 (or newer)
  • Opera Mobile 9.7 (or newer)
  • Internet Explorer 4 (or newer)
  • Firefox 3.5 (or newer)
  • Netscape Navigator 4-6

If you are using an older version of one of these browsers, you will need to download and install fonts that include the proper character sets. There are many fonts that will do the job, but these are our preferred fonts. All of them are free downloads:

Of course, the Grammateus Reader that powers the OCP texts is optimized for the newest generation of browsers. So if your browser does not support font embedding the best option is to download the newest version of Google Chrome, Firefox, or Safari.
